Raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Anina began her ballet training at age ten and has studied under internationally recognized teachers and choreographers such as Olga Ferri, Raul Candal and Martin Miranda.
In 1995, she received a scholarship from the School of American Ballet Theatre to train in New York. After completing her scholarship, Anina returned to Argentina to continue her ballet training and in 2003, she received an offer from Artistic Director Hernan Justo to join CBT, Carolina Ballet Theatre in Greenville, South Carolina.
In 2004, Anina was promoted to principal dancer with the Carolina Ballet Theatre. Her repertoire with the company includes Princess Aurora/Lilac Fairy – The Sleeping Beauty; The Dying Swan – Swan Lake; Raymonda – Raymonda; Fairy Godmother – Cinderella; Sugar Plum Fairy – The Nutcracker; Paquita; La Bayadere and Le Corsaire.
She has also performed leading roles in It Takes Tu-Tu Tango, Celebration of Women, Cirque du Ballet, Arriving in Indigo City and many others. Anina has also been invited to appear as a guest artist with other major companies in the United States.
During the summers of 2006 and 2007 Anina was invited by the United States Embassy in Uruguay to attend the 3rd and 4th Gala Internacional de Danza in Montevideo. She traveled to attend the Gala and received amazing reviews for her performances. She is also fortunate to have trained under Alonzo King, performing his choroegraphy of Beyond the Lines on stage.
In addition to her role as a Principal Dancer, Anina teaches many classes for the School of CBT and is involved with SmartARTS - the Arts Integration educational program established by the Metropolitan Arts Council (MAC) in Greenville, SC.
Anina brings exceptional extension and emotional depth to every role and choreography she learns. From classical, neo-classical to contomporary performances she possesses a personality and distinction that sets her apart on any stage.
